Directions to Piha
Auckland's famous Beach -
Waitakere, Auckland, New Zealand
The drive to Piha is through the beautiful Waitakere Ranges; picturesque and in places quite awesome. The road surface is good and has recently had some new safety signs put on the windy parts.
Please keep to the left, don't cut corners and be careful passing. If travelling slowly please pull into one of the 'bays' and let the more impatient locals pass!

Following a good road map to the charming village of Titirangi. Top up on petrol here - it's your last chance as there is no petrol in Piha. Take a moment to pick up supplies from Super Value supermarket here before continuing
At the far end of this village is a round-about. Take 2nd left turn, signposted to Piha - Scenic Drive. You're 20-25 minutes away from stunning Piha.
You will pass the Arataki Visitors Center - its well worth calling in. Great views of the Waitakere Ranges, wonderful books and information. Now continue in the same direction and as you pass the Elevation Licensed Cafe & Restaurant (formerly the Nikau Club) on the right, approx 5 minutes from Arataki, be sure to take the 'low road', on the left, to Piha - the high road, on the right will not get you to us :) Continue on this road for approximately 12-15 minutes and you're in Piha
Turn left, into Beach Valley Road, when you see this road sign at the bottom of Piha Hill

Or if you're off the early morning flight from America fill in some time, before check in, having a coffee or breakfast at Piha's beautiful 'Piha Cafe' in the hub of Piha.
Directions to: Piha Beach Cabin: GSP entry: 54 Beach Valley Road, Piha, Waitakere
At the bottom of Piha Hill, when you see the blue sign photographed above, turn left into Beach Valley Road. Continue on down this road, over the two speed humps, toward the beach. When you see a white 'Accommodation' sign on the left, #54, you are here :)
BE CAREFUL: Driving into #54 you are crossing a small bridge that is not terribly obvious! Pull in carefully please.
At the bottom of Piha Hill, when you see the blue sign photographed above, immediately turn left into Beach Valley Road - do NOT cross over the bridge. Continue on down this road, over the two speed humps, toward the beach. Turn left into Sylvan Glade then into the first driveway on the left. You are here.
Guests to the Kauri Suite please drive up the drive and park in front of the Kauri Suite.
